Penguin Palooza!

Winter may not be my favorite season, but I do love my teaching topics and themes this time of year!

Penguins have always been a favorite of mine to teach and learn about. I feel like I learn something new every time I read some nonfiction penguin books to my class!

Several of the bloggers from The Primary Pack are having this Penguin Palooza to show you some of our popular penguin products, give you some ideas and freebies, and offer a giveaway!

Writing facts about nonfiction text can sometimes be difficult for my young kiddos! I’ve created a few graphic organizer and writing packs to help them through this process. These packs can be used hand-in-hand with several winter topics to help your students become better nonfiction writers!

My Winter Tree Map Graphic Organizers can be done whole group by using the anchor chart cards. We always work together to tell facts from the text while I draw and label pictures on the board using these cards. Then, I have my students fill out the graphic organizer. There are 2 versions so I can differentiate and meet the needs of all my learners! It really helps them see the facts that they are coming up with from the text!

Using bubble maps are one of my favorite ways to help my students organize their thoughts about a text! Sometimes they just need to draw a few pictures to get the information down on paper! Writing labels and sentences will be a lot easier after that. My Winter Writing pack is perfect for this! Lots of information gets put into these bubbles, and then I can choose from 2 differentiated writing pages to give to each student so they can write down all the facts they’ve learned!

Try out BOTH of these great writing packs with an exclusive FREEBIE that you’ll only find HERE!

Plus, both of these packs will be on sale during our Penguin Palooza!!

Just search “penguinpalooza” on TpT to see all of our penguin goodies!

I love the whole Tacky series. We make our own Tacky penguins to display in the hallway right next to our Bob the Snowman tourists.

We were lucky enough to be gifted this Little Genius Starter Kit and it is the coolest thing ever! My 4 year old is hooked and I love that she's learning while playing on the iPad. ➡️ Swipe to check out the letter formation game she was working on.

From phonics and numbers to storytelling and coding, there are so many games, activities and kits to choose from! There's even a Disney Frozen activity kit that I may already have hidden away for Hanukkah!

Osmo would be the perfect addition to any classroom too (especially if you already have an iPad!) I could see this being used during reading or math centers. How would you use Osmo in your classroom??
