It’s CURRENTLY January??!!

Happy New Year!!!!

It’s not that I can’t believe it’s a new year, I just can’t believe it’s already January. I feel like it was just Thanksgiving and I was looking forward to winter break…

Anyways, it’s once again time to link up with Farley for some Currently action!

Listening: It’s New Years day… of course football is on the TV.

(Still depressed about my Gators but let’s move on…)
Loving: We’re in North Carolina for one more day visiting with some friends and I just love sitting in their living room by the fire. It’s so peaceful (and freezing!!!)

Thinking: I’m really loving this winter break thing and I’d like another week, or two, or forever please!! It’s been a rough year, and I’m just not ready to go back…

Wanting: I would love a teacher work day! I’m not even close to being planned for when we go back and I have so much filing and organizing I could get done without the kids!! Guess I’ll have to wait until mid-January…

Needing: I’m not a big baker, but we’re making these tonight and I can’t wait to dig in!

YES: I was soooo close to reaching my reading goal in 2014 but I fell short by a few books. I will meet my goal this year! 65 books!!
MAYBE: I would love for my hubby and I to go on a little vacation. It’s not that we never go anywhere (we’re in NC right now, remember?!), but we’re always visiting family and friends. I just wanna get away!!
I WISH: I would love to reach my first TpT milestone this year, but that’s a pretty far stretch! However, my hubby is always talking about the power of positive thinking so I’m just going to go with it!!

Hi Elyse! I, too, am anxiously pursuing my first TPT milestone! Won't that be FUN!? Let's adopt "Dory's" theme song from Finding Nemo – do you remember her? "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming… " Enjoy the remainder of your break and I'm following your blog now, so be sure to announce your milestone so I can congratulate you!

Wouldn't a work day be wonderful? I am going to have to convince myself to go up to school over the weekend and regroup! I am not planned at all and the piles are growing in my room! Those cookies look delicious. Happy New Year!

I'm kind of thankful that my school won't let us in, but that will mean some prep work at home! Ahhhh I don't wanna!! πŸ™‚

I'm not ready to go back either. If only we could freeze time! We have some teacher work days that I am really looking forward to, but it's not until the end of January and I could use one as soon as Monday! I hope that you are able to reach your first milestone this year. I'd love to reach mine as well and I know one day I will, but it would be lovely if it would happen in 2015! Perhaps we shall be celebrating a year from now on Currently 2016! πŸ™‚

It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€ Did some coloring It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€

Did some coloring with my girl today using Bellen's @morethanpeachproject crayons.

We talked about the different shades of peach and brown that we were using. We found crayons to match our skin and the skin color of Doc McStuffins on the shirt she was wearing today. The reaction from her was "oooooh look at all the browns!!" 🀎

Today is a great day to support Black-owned businesses. If you haven't seen these crayons before, please go visit Bellen's page and check them out.

I made these simple and fun letter practice pages recently and wanted to share them with you all!! Head to the link in my bio to find out more on my blog.

I wrote the letters on sticker dots and had her match the lowercase letters to uppercase letters.

Side note: This girl does NOT like doing learning activities like this so the fact that she willingly did these makes me so happy and proud!!

Those little hands couldn't wait to play!!

One of our go to activities the past week has been our Hanukkah sensory bin. I used blue rice, cookie cutters, dreidels, and added a few pom poms for a different texture.

She also had various cups, containers, and spoons to use for scooping, filling, and pouring.

Practice and learn some Christmas and Hanukkah vocabulary words by reading the words and moving the letters to spell the words.

Students can also add a text box to practice typing the words.
