Currently September!

Well hello there blog! I know, I know, it’s been awhile…
Back to school has been kicking my behind! I’m hoping we get into a routine soon so I can get back to my regularly scheduled activities of watching TV, creating products, and blogging!

I’m so thankful for the currently because it made me give my blog some lovin’ today! Thanks Farley for hosting, as always!!
Listening: I love all the X-Men movies! My husband and I actually had a marathon over the summer. I feel like I’ve seen First Class once a week this summer, but I’m not complaining!

Loving: Please do not laugh, but I was seriously using versions of PowerPoint and Word from when I was still in high school! Did you know that there’s a teacher deal to get the whole Microsoft package for $9.95?! Well, I didn’t…but once I found out I was all over that! I’m also working on upgrading to Adobe Pro – right now I’m doing the trial and I’ll buy it when that’s over. Makes my creating sooo much easier!

Thinking: This happens every time we have a long weekend, and it will continue to happen because I have thoughts of grandeur!! But that’s ok because I really didn’t have that much to do this weekend for school and I did get a lot done – but there’s just always more to do!

Wanting: My husband was out of town (out of the country is more like it!) the whole first week of school. He came back for 4 days and now he’s out of town again until tomorrow. I’m ready for him to be home!!

Needing: I told myself I’d put in the laundry before I started this post (didn’t happen). My grocery list is halfway done and once it’s finished I’ll procrastinate going to the store for another hour or two (least favorite chores!!!)

3 trips: I’m not a “big city” kind of girl but I’ve never been to Boston or Chicago so I’d just like to go once to see what it’s all about!
I’d love to be vacationing in Hawaii right about now! The pictures always look so beautiful!
Australia and New Zealand are on both my list and my husband’s so hopefully we’ll get over there one day!

I guess we both need the same thing, food! I can't bring myself to move from the couch at the moment though! Boston is definitely a wonderful place, let me know if you ever go!

I've needed to go to the store all weekend & here I sit instead of going. I feel your pain. My laundry has also piled up. The 3 day weekend just flies by. I did get a lot done outside yesterday though, so that makes me feel a little better. Only 4 more weeks until our fall break though. It's hard to believe the 1st 9 weeks is 1/2 way over for us here in Indiana. We're heading to Panama City in October. Yeah!

Hi, Elyse! I took advantage of the Microsoft deal, as well as the Adobe Pro educator's discount, last year! It was totally worth it! I am also in the midst of laundry and shopping, but I, too, keep procrastinating! My first day of school is tomorrow, so I better get moving!

That's good to know about the Microsoft deal.
And even if don't prefer big cities, Chicago is amazing in so many ways. The architecture is beautiful, the river is unique, and the food is varied & yummy! Maybe you'll get to go soon! Have a good school year!

I'm currently reading your blog instead of going to the grocery store. Finally finished the list I started this morning. I don't know what it is about that chore I can't stand.

It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€ Did some coloring It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€

Did some coloring with my girl today using Bellen's @morethanpeachproject crayons.

We talked about the different shades of peach and brown that we were using. We found crayons to match our skin and the skin color of Doc McStuffins on the shirt she was wearing today. The reaction from her was "oooooh look at all the browns!!" 🀎

Today is a great day to support Black-owned businesses. If you haven't seen these crayons before, please go visit Bellen's page and check them out.

I made these simple and fun letter practice pages recently and wanted to share them with you all!! Head to the link in my bio to find out more on my blog.

I wrote the letters on sticker dots and had her match the lowercase letters to uppercase letters.

Side note: This girl does NOT like doing learning activities like this so the fact that she willingly did these makes me so happy and proud!!

One of our go to activities the past week has been our Hanukkah sensory bin. I used blue rice, cookie cutters, dreidels, and added a few pom poms for a different texture.

She also had various cups, containers, and spoons to use for scooping, filling, and pouring.
