Creative Teacher Giveaway!

I have a confession… crafting kind of scares me! But, this summer I have stepped way out of my comfort zone and I’ve been a crafting machine! (ok, maybe I just did a few projects but it’s better than my usual… admire it on Pinterest and never make it!)

There was one craft I had my eye on for awhile and it was just waiting patiently on one of my Pinterest boards. I wanted to take those cute, vinyl, $1 bags from the Target dollar spot and make them into pictures.
{Click here for the original post where I found this idea.}

I put a teacher spin on it and decided to make mini corkboards! Here’s how it all went down…

Gather your materials.
Each bag can make 2 corkboards, but I bought several just in case!
I bought a 4-pack of cork from Michaels.
I ended up using a stapler and not the tacks because the cork was thin.

Start cutting those bags apart!

After I had my cut bag, I measured it against the cork. I knew I would have to cut down the cork, but since it was thin it wasn’t difficult!

Fit your cork piece inside the cut apart bag. Fold the flaps over and start stapling away!

The bags can hang on the wall with the sticky pads that came with the pack of cork or just use 3M command strips. OR you can hang the bag on a hook.
I’m thinking of using mine as the spot for our “exit question/ticket.” Don’t mind the makeshift sticky note sign! I was just happy to find my sticky notes in my mess of a classroom!!

Here’s your chance to win one of these bags turned mini corkboards! I’ll be making the green bags today (seen above in the materials picture) so you can choose blue or green if you win!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

*Just a couple giveaway terms:

The winner must be a classroom/homeschool teacher and must live in the contiguous US due to shipping rates.

The winner must respond with a shipping address within 72 hours of being contacted by me or I will pick a new winner.

Those are so cute! I never would have thought of covering it with one of the mini bags! I would definitely put something like that in my reading center.

Great Idea! I've seen the canvas covered w/ these bags but I hadn't thought about using cork board. You could use it in a center as a mini focus wall. I also like the idea of using it for exit tickets. There are so many possibilities!

I would use it for small notes that I need to leave myself that would get buried on my desk. Hopefully that means I wouldn't lose them as often! πŸ™‚

These cork boards are so creative! I would use them for students to leave thoughts on the different subjects covered in class and for no name papers.

It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€ Did some coloring It starts at home πŸ–€πŸ€ŽπŸ€

Did some coloring with my girl today using Bellen's @morethanpeachproject crayons.

We talked about the different shades of peach and brown that we were using. We found crayons to match our skin and the skin color of Doc McStuffins on the shirt she was wearing today. The reaction from her was "oooooh look at all the browns!!" 🀎

Today is a great day to support Black-owned businesses. If you haven't seen these crayons before, please go visit Bellen's page and check them out.

Side note: This girl does NOT like doing learning activities like this so the fact that she willingly did these makes me so happy and proud!!

One of our go to activities the past week has been our Hanukkah sensory bin. I used blue rice, cookie cutters, dreidels, and added a few pom poms for a different texture.

She also had various cups, containers, and spoons to use for scooping, filling, and pouring.
